Chesley retires from practice of law in Ohio

Stanley M. Chesley, the famed class-action lawyer who was disbarred in Kentucky and faced the same fate in Ohio, gave the Ohio Supreme Court notice that he is "permanently retired" from the practice of law.

The Ohio Supreme Court's Office of Attorney Services told WVXU this morning that Chesley's retirement was effective Thursday.

Referendum petition on parking lease successful

Opponents of Cincinnati's parking lease plan have enough valid signatures to place the city ordinance on the November ballot.

Hamilton County Board of Elections director Amy Searcy said election officials have checked about two-thirds of the 19,803 signatures submitted by opponents of the plan to outsource Cincinnati parking meters and garages and 8,727 signatures were from registered Cincinnati voters.

Opponents of the parking lease needed 8,522 signatures to place the ordinance on the ballot.

Air cargo company relocating HQ to Florence, bringing 150 jobs

Northern Kentucky officials join Southern Air executives in cutting the ceremonial ribbon on their new headquarters to be located in Florence.

Air cargo carrier Southern Air is moving its global headquarters to Florence, Kentucky. The $3.5 million investment will create 150 jobs.

Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson says companies aren't picking the state solely based on tax incentives.

Statement by C. Francis Barrett, Chair, University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees: Stanley M. Chesley has resigned from the University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees, effective immediately. Accordingly, the special meeting of the Board of Trustees scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2013 has been cancelled. The University is appreciative of Mr. Chesley’s many years of service.
