Delays expected this weekend on SB471

It could be a slow go for drivers on Southbound 471 in Northern Kentucky this weekend as crews get ready for Phase II of this summer's reconstruction project.  Officials are suggesting you find an alternate route.

Starting at seven Friday evening and continuing through Monday morning, traffic will be reduced to one lane between Kentucky 8 and US 27 in Highland Heights.  

Workers will be installing a temporary concrete barrier wall and pavement markings.

Metro launching plan to boost ridership in Uptown

Metro is rolling out its new Plus service and Uptown Transit District plan around UC and the hospital campuses.

Four new boarding shelters are being installed. They'll feature LED displays with real-time information.

The district will also serve as a transfer point for nine routes rather than going through the main hub downtown.

President and CEO of the Uptown Consortium Beth Robinson says the newly created Uptown Transit District is important for easing congestion.

39 more "double voters" to be referred to prosecutor

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has broken a tie vote on the Hamilton County Board of Elections, sending 39 more cases of persons alleged to have voted twice in the 2012 election to the county prosecutor for possible criminal prosecution.

"These cases should be investigated,'' Husted told WVXU. "It does not necessarily mean people will be indicted and prosecuted. But the elections system does not have the capability to investigate all of these; and the county prosecutor does."

Queen City Bike has released its 2013 list of bicycle friendly destinations.  It's a list that keeps getting bigger with two dozen new destinations this year.

Cincinnati Council approves budget by 5-4 vote

Cincinnati Council officially balanced the budget Thursday for the next fiscal year that begins in a just a few weeks.  But once again the plan relies heavily on one-time sources and juggling other funds to close a $35 million deficit.  

There are no police and fire layoffs, but some 60 other city employees will be out of work.  

Residents can also expect some city services to be affected... plus two recreation centers will close and five city swimming pools will be shut down after this summer.
