Republicans and Democrats on the Hamilton County Board of Elections are split over a county prosecutor’s opinion which says dozens of voters who cast two ballots in last year’s election should be referred for potential criminal prosecution – even though the board has already exonerated most of them.
Near the end of a board meeting that last three-and-a-half hours Wednesday, the two Democrats and two Republicans on the board discussed an opinion from Prosecutor Joe Deters, but decided not to actually vote on whether approximately 67 cases should be sent to the prosecutor.
Right now orange construction barrels are sitting alongside southbound 471 in Northern Kentucky. Starting Friday evening crews will be moving them into place as reconstruction starts on the interstate.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Engineer Rob Hans said it’s a continuation of a project that started last year.
Update: Botanist Jack Keegan reports the 'corpse flower' is now blooming. The flower typically blooms for only a few hours. Miami does not plan to pollinate it so Keegan says tonight's the night to get to Oxford if you want to see it in bloom. Keegan is expecting large crowds. The Belk Greenhouse will be open until at least 11 p.m. Tuesday.
