Pig organizers squealing for Rio de Janeiro

The logo design mixes the Olympic colors with the iconic images of Cincinnati and Rio de Janeiro. The 2016 Games will be the 31st Summer Games.

Flying Pig Marathon organizers are hoping the "Road to Rio Runs through Cincinnati." That's the slogan for their bid to host the 2016 Olympic marathon trials.

Ryan Hall won the 2008 trials and placed 10th in Beijing. He's helping with the bid and race course design. Hall says Cincinnati has great energy.

Still no MSD compromise

Cincinnati and Hamilton County officials continue to hash out a compromise on several hiring and bidding policies related to the Metropolitan Sewer District.

An August 1 deadline has come and gone, meaning a city moratorium on the policies has expired. That led County Commissioners Wednesday to halt the bidding process for an upcoming project.

Fifth grade teacher Amy Kromer of Hebron is excited to start the new school year at Caywood Elementary in the Kenton County School District next week.

"When I started teaching my son was in first grade, so I could relate to my first grade students," she said. Now, her son is older and she's moving on to older students too. This is her first year  teaching fifth graders and she says getting her room ready for them is totally different.

CVG finds niche with smaller airlines like Ultimate Air

Ultimate Air Shuttle will start a four-day-a-week service from CVG Sept. 9th.

Less than three months since Frontier Airlines starting flying out of CVG, the airport announced Wednesday public charter service Ultimate Air Shuttle will start service to Morristown Airport, NJ September 9th.

Vote could signal end for Clifton landmark

Lenhardt's Restaurant sits empty in Clifton.

The path is now clear for demolition of a historic Clifton landmark.

A Cincinnati council committee is siding with the owners of Lenhardt's restaurant against a bid to designate it a historic building. The neighborhood group CUF sought the designation after the Windholtz family shuttered the restaurant in December and announced plans to sell to a developer who intends to tear it down.
