If you're among the 1.7 million Ohioans AAA says are taking a vacation this Independence Day holiday, you're in good, but likely crowded, company. The auto club estimates 1.4 million Ohioans will drive more than 50 miles from home between Wednesday, July 3 and Sunday, July 7.

Pack your patience, a majority of the top destinations listed by AAA are along the I-75 corridor.
Five candidates filed petitions to run for Cincinnati mayor last week, but only four had enough valid signatures to make the Sept. 10 primary ballot, according to the Hamilton County Board of Elections.
Stacy Smith, a first-time candidate, submitted petitions with 794 signatures, but only 367 of them were valid signatures of Cincinnati voters.
Candidates must have 500 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.
Xavier University sees a lot of benefits, athletic and otherwise, as it enters the Big East Conference. Lots of X fans, students and supporters packed Fountain Square Monday afternoon as the university officially joined the 10-team league. Among them was Jay Skeldon, who started the Musketeer Madness website as a student in 1997.
"What's happening today with the Big East and being part of such a great conference with such great tradition, great teams, like-member institutions, is just phenomenal," he said.
It might be a case for Indiana Jones... Miami University says someone has stolen 13 Native American, Aztec and other artifacts. The items were taken sometime over the weekend.
The university estimates the loss at nearly $10,000 but says that is a generic estimate based on similar objects found online. An official says the items are priceless because the real value is unknown and the items are irreplaceable.
