How Covington faced down a $20M deficit

A year and a half ago Covington City Manager Larry Klein projected a $20 million deficit over five years. Now with what he calls "painful" cuts out of the way, including new labor contracts with higher health care premiums, a reorganization of city departments and a consolidation of emergency dispatch services, Covington is on track to save 20 million over five years. He will detail his new budget Tuesday morning for businesses at a meeting spearheaded by the Covington Business Council.

German company picks Mason for production facility

Festo, a German Multi-National Corporation will build a new production and distribution facility in Mason to open in 2015.

Festo, a German-based manufacturing company, is moving its production, assembly and distribution facility from Long Island, New York to Mason. The new 175,000 sq. ft. building will open in 2015 along the growing  I-71 technology corridor on a 45-acre site. Earlier this year  WVXU reported Mason has created  nearly $110 million in new investment and created 1,400 new jobs since 2011.

 Mason was chosen because of location

Two more alleged vote fraud cases sent to prosecutor

Two more persons suspected of illegal voting in the November 2012 election were referred to the Hamilton County prosecutor Monday morning by the Hamilton County Board of Elections.


Referred to the prosecutor were Lakeisha M. Watkins, a 41-year-old woman who cast a provisional ballot in Colerain precinct  W on election day and then voted in her former precinct, Colerain GG. Board of Elections officials tried to contact the woman and was told that she lives in Boston.
