UC to offer co-op model and engineering programs in China

The University of Cincinnati's cooperative education program is branching out with a new base in China.  The university signed a memorandum of understanding Monday with Chongqing University.  The agreement calls for UC to establish a Joint Co-op Institute for mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.  It also offers UC's curriculum and faculty in those two majors.

Commissioners supportive of Zoo levy request

The Cincinnati Zoo's levy request looks to have support from at least two of Hamilton County's Commissioners.

The Zoo is asking the board to place a flat renewal of its five year levy on the November ballot.

Monday morning a committee which reviews county levies recommended the board fulfill the zoo's request.

Commissioner Greg Hartmann likes the low percentage of taxpayer funds the Zoo uses to operate.

Traffic changes coming along riverfront

Traffic along Cincinnati's riverfront is getting a little more tricky for a few weeks.

Lane closures and detours start Monday morning while crews work on constructing a new pedestrian bridge on Pete Rose Way and what's known as the Dumbo Lot at Third and Broadway and removing the Race Street bridge deck.

Sidewalks in those areas will also be closed for certain periods.

The traffic disruptions are slated to run through early August.

Is there an advantage in winning mayoral primary?

There will be a primary election for Cincinnati mayor on September 10.  How much it will tell us about who will ultimately become the new mayor of the city on December 1 is an open question.


We do know this – it will be one of the two top vote-getters in the primary, who will face each other in the November election.
