Boone County native and country music entertainer Kenny Price is being honored Saturday when a section of US 42, from I-75 to KY 237, will be dedicated in his name--The Kenny Price Memorial Highway.
The Florence native was a singer, songwriter and actor nicknamed the "Round Mound of Sound" (Price weighed close to 300 pounds for most of his career). He charted 34 singles between 1966 and 1980, including "The Sheriff of Boone County," a top-ten song on the charts in 1970.
The Hamilton County Sheriff is rolling out a three phase approach to combating what has been a continuing problem at county buildings, and especially the courthouse, dozens of homeless people sleeping and defecating on the property.
Investigators now have a better idea of how much money a former NKU Athletic Director allegedly stole.
Scott Eaton was fired in March for having inappropriate relationships with four university employees and a student. The university suspected he diverted school funds for personal reasons and had an accounting firm investigate.
Tuesday's mayoral primary election, with its record low turnout of 5.68 percent, has convinced former mayor and congressman David Mann that Cincinnati needs a new way of electing its mayor.
Mann, who is now running for city council with Democratic and Charter Committee endorsements, said that if he is elected, he will introduce a charter amendment that will replace the direct election of the mayor system that has been in place since 2001.
