1207 Returns to OTR

A new music venue is opening in OTR!

It is called "1207" - a throwback to the original venue from the 1990's.

Located just upstairs from Cincy by the Slice, Venomous Valdez - a regular friend of the show says it will be a "little room with an emphasis on Americana/Folk/Jazz/Blues/Indie Rock."

The "soft opening" will be this Thursday, December 13th.

Local Exposure: Read to Me

Our focus for Local Exposure has always been on Food, Family and Culture, and we thought it would a great, fun activity to record ourselves reading some of our favorite children's books and share them here.

This is a recording of me reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle with my daughter, Annie at bedtime.  I simply recorded it with my phone and uploaded it to SoundCloud and shared it here.

Last Stop on the LX Time Machine - Wyoming Farmers Market

The cozy neighborhood of Wyoming
Chelsea VandeDrink

Jim's right - this interview was warm and inviting.  An emotion not to distant from our overall experience in Wyoming.  The women in charge of the Wyoming Farmer's Market are not just enthusiastic about food, but the community as well.

LX Time Machine goes back to OTR - Peaslee Neighborhood Center

Peaslee Neighborhood Center in Over the Rhine
Jim Nolan

One of my favorite neighborhoods to cover was Over the Rhine.  I lived in OTR for 3 and half years and look forward to transplanting my family back downtown.  Every morning on my way to work I would hear laughter coming from Peaslee Neighborhood Center.  It was a joy to revisit this interview.

LX Time Machine re-visits Mariemont Theater

A pillar of Mariemont in the middle of the Main Sqaure
Jim Nolan

During Local Exposure's visit through the quaint village of Mariemont we featured the Theater standing in the center of the square.  We asked our movie and film aficionado, Larry Thomas for a brief history and description of this historical landmark in Mariemont.
