Frank Black and John Flansburgh had a baby, and they named it Day Camp.

Rarely do I get the opportunity to see a band live BEFORE I get my hands on their recording, but I was lucky enough to share the Mainstay stage with Day Camp recently and, frankly, fell in love with what I heard. So, when I found out they were releasing their first EP, I (quite literally) dropped what I was doing and rushed out to pick it up.

Exhale Dance Tribe is a contemporary jazz dance company based in Cincinnati and rooted in rhythmic storytelling.  The troupe is comprised of performing artists and dance educators and strives to link dancers, choreographers, musicians, singers and multimedia artists on both a national and international level.

John Ford: The Songs from Room 414

John Ford visited Room 414 of The Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas October of 2012 to record five songs.

There are those who believe that - in a special place and at a special time - you can hear ghosts.  Some also believe that these ghosts, under the right circumstances, can be recorded.

On October 25th, 2012, local blues singer/songwriter John Ford checked into The Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.  Ford specifically requested Room 414 and, in that room, he set up a simple 1958 mono "Voice of Music" reel-to-reel tape recorder and proceeded to lay down 5 tracks in the hope of catching a ghost.

As expected, CityBeat's 2014 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards resulted in an amazing evening of fun, great times and incredible music.  Covington's Madison Theater was packed with musicians, artists and supporters of the local music community.
