The Art Circle at the Essex Studios' current exhibit, entitled “Quench Your Thirst for Art,” is on display inside Venue 222, a downtown meeting space for corporate and social events located on 14th Street.

I was fortunate to get some insight into both the artwork and the facility itself from Debbie Dent, owner of Venue 222, and Connie Springer from the Art Circle.

The Awesome Foundation, started in Boston in 2009, set out to discover just that. The Foundation provides one-time $1,000 grants, with no strings attached, to people who can create – in their words - "flashes of micro-brilliance."

Tom + Chee Seeks to "Expand Their Cheesy Empire"

Tom + Chee, a grilled cheese and tomato soup shop that started in a tent on Fountain Square is taking the next big step.

Owners Cory Ward and Trew Quackenbush will pitch their brand of grilled cheese to the panel on ABC's "Shark Tank" on Friday, May 17.

For the past three years Cincinnati has held a shopping cart race around downtown to raise money for the local Freestore Foodbank.

This year's Cinciditarod took place around downtown Cincinnati and over the bridge into Newport, KY.

Contestants form teams, put on costumes, and decorate carts to race. There are checkpoints where the contestants are asked to eat, drink, dance, and even pose with Mr. Redlegs.

Teams have two and half hours to complete all the checkpoints before making it back to Fountain Square, the finish line.

Team Hoist won this year.
