UC Medical Center http://wvxu.org en Using GPS to fix a heart problem http://wvxu.org/post/using-gps-fix-heart-problem <p>When diagnosing and repairing the heart's electrical system, doctors often have to use lots of radiation to pinpoint the problem. <strong>It's not uncommon for the patient to experience 50 minutes or more of radiation </strong>thanks to X-rays, CAT scans and nuclear stress tests.</p> Wed, 07 May 2014 18:00:00 +0000 Ann Thompson 26088 at http://wvxu.org Using GPS to fix a heart problem Electric power restored at UC, UC Medical Center http://wvxu.org/post/electric-power-restored-uc-uc-medical-center <p>A power outage early this morning cut off electric service&nbsp; to the University of Cincinnati main campus and the UC Medical Center, but it was restored before noon.</p><p>The campus and UC Medical Center were without power from shortly after 8 a.m. until 11:20, according to tweets from the university and UC president Santa Ono. &nbsp; The hospital kept operating on a back-up power system.</p><p>The university has its own power grid which is fed electricity by Duke Energy.
